California State Firefighters' Association (CSFA) members are eligible for the 22 units of credit if they successfully completed Firefighter I Certification.
The award of 22 units will be granted to CSFA members once the Union Institute & University (UI&U) receives a verification letter from their supervisor or submit official certificate of completion of training. The verification letter shall:
- Be typed on official letterhead
- Be written by a supervisor above the rank of the student
- Verify that the employee has successfully completed the Firefighter I Certification including date of completion
- Admission personnel, program advisors, or enrollment counselors will provide the attached sample letter to CSFA members
CSFA members are still eligible for certified learning for training after they complete Firefighter I Certification. That policy and procedure is not impacted by this policy.
