Appreciating our alumna during Teacher appreciation week

Dr. Jay M. Keehn, Union’s Dean of Students / ADA Coordinator, surprised Union alumna, Vedra Roker, in her classroom during Teacher Appreciation Week with a proclamation of congratulations from President Karen Schuster Webb.

Take a look at the presentation.

Roker, an Atlantic Tech High School teacher in Broward County, FL, holds two degrees and a certificate from Union, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education, a Master of Education with a major in Educational Leadership, and an Educational Specialist Certificate.

“I had the privilege of presenting President Webb’s proclamation to Vedra. I am not surprised that she received this honor,” Keehn said. “I was fortunate to be the Director of the M.Ed. and Education Specialist program and her professor for the latter two degrees. It was great to see Vedra in front of her class, putting her Union degrees into action.”

Thank you Vedra for being a shining example of the Union mission to engage, enlighten, and empower.
