Dr. Anna Blair
Master of Arts – Health & Wellness Major Faculty
Anna Blair, PhD, is core faculty for the MA program’s Health and Wellness major at Union Institute and University. Dr Blair has worked in a variety of settings but always emphasizes a holistic approach to assessment and health communication throughout the lifespan. As a faculty member, she works with students on diverse topics relating to health and wellness and health promotion, including: complementary medicine, shamanism, health communication/risk communication, organizational behavior, mind body medicine, lactation consulting, physical fitness, and nutrition.
Dr Blair’s recent work has been on resilience, specifically in ways to promote resilience throughout the lifespan. She is also interested in health and wellness issues surrounding disparities of care and prevention, and has focused much of her work on ethical and social justice issues related to global health.
Dr Blair speaks at national and international conferences on topics relating to resilience, nutrition, and health care ethics.
Dr Blair is faculty for the Healthy Children Project and also serves as chair of the BS in Maternal Child Health: Lactation Consulting program at Union Institute and University. She is a lactation consultant, author of numerous books and articles related to maternal and child health, and continues to help post partum mothers and babies.
