Including the Air Force, I have over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry (volunteer firefighter, emergency room, chemical dependency, rehabilitation, and urgent care settings) and have been a licensed vocational nurse for 29 years. For the past 28+ years, I’ve been involved in sales, marketing and public relations in clinical laboratory services, office automation, workers’ compensation, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. My sales roles have included VP-level, field sales, local and regional marketing director positions with various hospitals (both for-and not-for-profit) and private firms.
I have an Ed.D. in Higher Education & Leadership from the University of the Pacific, in Stockton, CA. My undergraduate degree is in Business Administration and Management, and I also have an MBA (the latter two from University of Phoenix). I’ve been teaching at the college level, for various universities, for over 19 years, and over 17 online. Presently, I am the Regional Director of Operations for Care Meridian, in northern California, Colorado and several facilities in southern California. This company provides care in smaller, home-like settings for slow-to-recover, catastrophically injured individuals. I am also the co-founder and former partner in MODgroup, a marketing consulting firm (now an associate).
I’ve been married for 31 years to a lovely German woman I met in the Air Force, and have three boys, 22, 25, and 28. My eldest is in the US Coast Guard and my middle son is a former Ranger, now in the Army reserves, and finishing college, full-time. My youngest just returned a three-year internship in Germany (with Euro Canon) and is now back home doing some freelance photography and looking at the next chapter.
