NEW! Free Mental Health Counseling Services Available to Students
Union Institute & University students now have free, unlimited access to therapists and on-demand crisis counseling anytime, anywhere, from any device.
“Through a partnership with the Virtual Care Group, our students now have access to free, confidential mental health counseling services. Using a telehealth platform provides the opportunity to meet with a master’s level, licensed therapist. Counseling services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from any device, mobile app, web portal, or landline in all 50 states and Puerto Rico,” Dr. Jay M. Keehn, Executive Director of Student Support Services, said.
“Frequently, our students who have struggled with their coursework tell us that they have been experiencing a crisis – their own, or one involving a family member. In these times of crisis, the stress, uncertainty, and sense of isolation can be truly overwhelming. Both mental health awareness and commitment to self-care must be a priority.”
The new Student Mental Health Counseling Services joins the other student services available to make students successful.
“The success of our students is paramount. Our adult learners are goal-oriented toward degree completion but carry family and workloads the average college student does not experience,” Dr. Keehn explains. “The Mental Health Counseling, along with our Writing Center, Math Tutoring Center, Career Services, and Disability Services, provide valuable resources to our students to accomplish their degree and career goals seamlessly.”
