If your goal is to be a leader in nutrition and health, it’s never too late to pursue your Master of Arts in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics Program at Union Institute & University. The graduate program prepares students to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
The UIU program offers online didactic coursework combined with real-world application supervised experiential learning (SEL) that applies knowledge of nutrition and dietetics in nutrition practice settings under the guidance of professional preceptors.
Dr. Lisa Akers, Chair of the Applied Nutrition and Dietetics program, explains the importance of combining theory and practice.
“Our SEL is incorporated and interwoven with classroom-based activities and off-site collaborative projects, including rotations with local food and nutrition agencies and organizations. Competency-Based Education, which includes concurrent classroom learning and supervised experiential learning, helps students make the connection between theory and practice.”
The Union curriculum prepares students to be socially responsible practitioners engaged in actions that enhance the quality of life, reduce health disparities, and protect human rights. Apply today to fulfill your dream to optimize healthy lifestyles and diets.
