Kirk Davis, Ed.D., MBA, LVN is an adjunct professor at Union Institute & University. He has over 34 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Kirk has considerable managerial experience in diverse healthcare settings (including Fortune 500 companies), having served in these capacities: Regional Director of Business Development and Regional Director of Operations: Care Meridian (non-traditional subacute facilities); Vice President of Marketing & Business Development: Kennon S. Shea & Associates, Founder/Partner/Associate: MODgroup (marketing consulting), Director of Business Development: K12 Health, Manager of Sales & Marketing: Sutter Health, District Director of Sales & Marketing: Kindred Healthcare, Inc., Western Region Sales Director: NovaCare (Select Medical Corporation) and Lead Faculty for FlexNet Program: University of Phoenix (where he received the Distinguished Alumnus award in 2003).

Kirk is currently the Executive Director of Clinic Operations for Dignity Health Medical Foundation (not-for-profit) at the Mercy San Juan medical campus in Carmichael, CA, specifically overseeing and/or supporting 18 specialties including Primary Care to Neurology, 300 staff and nearly 100 physicians, the latter part of the for-profit Mercy Medical Group. Dignity Health is the largest healthcare system in California and the 5th largest in the United States with nearly $12+ billion in annual revenues.

An avid proponent of online education, Kirk’s dissertation is titled, Organizational Learning to Implementation: the Development of Post-secondary Online Degree Programs (earned doctorate from University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA).

He has been teaching at the collegiate level for over 19 years, and 17 years, online. Married 32 years, with three adult sons. Happy and healthy!
