Daniel Ogbaharya Ph.D.

Dr. Daniel Ogbaharya currently serves as the Chair of the Public Policy and Social Change Concentration in the Ph.D. Program in Interdisciplinary Studies at Union Institute and University, where he teaches courses in conflict resolution, global development and environmental justice, political economy, and qualitative research methods.

Dr. Ogbaharya’s research interests lie in the political economy of development and environmental sustainability with a focus on community-based natural resources management in Africa. His essays and articles have been published in among others The Cambridge Handbook of Commons Research Innovations (2021), African Arguments (2015), Journal of Eastern African Studies (2010), Journal of Third World Studies (2009), Development in Practice (2008), Peace Review (2007), and The International Journal of Humanities and Peace (2006).
