Terri Mendoza SM, RD, CLC

Terri Mendoza is a licensed and registered dietitian and certified lactation counselor. She is currently Director of Nutrition Services for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Nutrition Division, which includes the Massachusetts WIC Program, Metabolic Food and Formula Program, and Growth and Nutrition Programs. Previously, she was Nutrition Education Specialist for the Massachusetts WIC Program and Director of the Massachusetts Diabetes Prevention and Control Program, during which time she chaired the National Diabetes Primary Prevention Initiative Committee. For 18 years, Terri was the Director of Health Information at the Harvard School of Public Health’s Center for Health Communication. Other work experience includes both administrative and clinical dietitian positions at Boston City Hospital (now known as Boston Medical Center) and Boston University, and freelance writer for a range of nutrition and health publications. In addition, Terri’s background includes work in sociocultural diversity, inequalities of health, and quality improvement. Terri received her BS in nutrition from Cornell University and a masters degree in behavioral sciences from the Harvard School of Public Health, and completed her dietetic internship at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital. She has been an affiliated faculty member at Union Institute & University since 2016
