The institute for social justice
At Union institute & university
A commitment to promote social justice and equity.
Conceived in 2018, the Institute is a signature initiative under the leadership of Karen Schuster Webb, Ph.D., president of Union, to rekindle the university’s founding mission as a university without walls and borders.
HISPANIC SERVING INSTITUTION
Proud to be the only one in Ohio.
Hispanic students represent 34% percent of our 2021 undergraduate enrollment.
A Hispanic Serving Institution is a designation by the U.S. Department of Education, indicating an accredited, degree-granting, nonprofit institution of higher learning with at least 25% Hispanic full-time undergraduate students. Across the Midwest, there are only 18 HSI colleges, and Union is proud to be the only one in Ohio.
